Hi folks;

Sometime over the last week or so I noticed that the AdSense ads are taking longer to display on my site. It's now at the point where it takes about 2 seconds at times to display the ad.

I checked Alexa recently and they dropped my site from being 56% faster then anyone else's to 84% slower then anyone else's. I know the site's fast but the ads are slow to load.

Thanks!
Marvin

Can't say that I'm seeing a problem here in the UK.

I have recently changed webhosts for one in the USA because most of my visitors are from the US. The effect of this was a rather unexpected increase in earnings :) So it seems that overall page load time is important.

If the page is loading slowly, it might be worth looking at all page elements that take time to load, and eliminating them one by one. I dumped a javascript applet, and a couple of un-necessary dynamic elements recently to improve overall page loading times.

Thanks David ~ There's only one change on the site that's been made recently (a very small one) other then that I've actually managed to get the page display time very, very low - it's just the Google ad.

You got me thinking about that one piece of code though - I'll re-visit it and make sure it's not the cause because they did appear about the same time..... :-)
