I use a script which will display adsense ads based on the title on the <title> of the site only, is this allowed?

Mmmm. Does it alter the Adsense code?

I can imagine several ways to accomplish this, none of which would be even close to conforming to the TOS.

Besides, they can still take off-page factors into account when targeting ads -- site theme, referring page, user information, etc.

What's the problem anyway. Most peoples are incredibly related to the content. So, why do something as silly as this and get yourself banned, if Google finds out ofcourse.

The title is usual something what contains 1 to 8 words.

How sould an AdLink bring 4 themes based on a title?
How many good ads will be missed, because the title is to short to contain all important words.

I find this is a nonsens.

The only way that could possibly be on the clean side of TOS is to use AdSense section targeting between the Title tags.

But as others have noted, it would have to be a pretty long title for AdSense to fish out something relevant.

And, again, that may still not be cool by Google's standards.
