Should I Expand Content or Tweak Ad Placements?

Well, I've just got into this adsense business since last month....and well, what I have is a site on how to do stuff, so far all I have is how to do magic tricks, and I'm currently working on another section...so far, I've made just $3.14.

I don't have subdomains, my page CTR for the main site is 3.59%...I've had just 13 clicks, and then for /magic, it's 1.68% and I've had just 2 clicks.

Now, what I'm confused about is, to make more money, is it just a case of expanding the content on my site? Or, as there will be a large variety of content, the ads will be varied...but then again, they will be relevant per page, which they are so far. I think I've layed them out well...I took a look at Google's heat map..........but I've read a lot about experimenting, but should I wait until I've expanded on my content before experimenting or not?

There are a vast array of ways you can go about making more money.

You can:

Increase your click percentage - Position ads so that more people click or tweak content for better generated ads.

Increase traffic - This can be accomplished by either promoting (or SE optimizing) pages you currently have and increase their traffic -or- build new pages so that you have more entry points into the site while each page is about a different subject to capture traffic in that "market".

Increase Money Generating Pages - Same as above but having more pages can keep eyes on your site longer thus possible more clicks. This can sway you CTR but it is the end income that matters. IF only 2% of visitors are clicking how can you capture the other 98% and get a percentage of them to click? I refer to it as RECYCLING your visitors.

Increase your click amount - Simply tweak content to get the highest paid clicks you can for that subject. Or generate content that has a high click ammount.

The method you choose is up to you. I prefer to do a little of each in that I utilize the traffic the best I can as well as obtain new traffic.

Both, but adjusting ads is easier to sea results with a consitant flow of traffic.

Yes, if you have <10 paes, first I would increase teh number of pages and of traffic.

While tweaking ads can be rewarding, it's only significant if you do it on a large sample of pageviews/clicks, where IMHO large means more than 1.000

Also, for small numbers of pages, the time spent increasing contents can be more useful than the time spent tweaking ads ...

For example, you could spend 3 days tweaking ads, and increase earnings by 40%.

If you have now 10 pages, and in the same 3 days you create other 20 pages, you could have a 200% increase ..

Well, after extensive reading of this forum, I've realised I'm making my site into an MFA rather than what I want, it was originally meant to be about cricket, and then I changed the idea because I thought it would get me more money with adsense.
