If google notices something funny is going on.... how much time elapses before they take action?

End of the month we get a bit of credit back, sometimes. You're talking about something larger scale?

How do you know about this Click fraud?

i don't know why this is important but.....
my roommate told me he clicked on the ads on my site before I explained to him he can't.....

but I'm afraid we're making this more complicated than necessary. I'm just wondering how long until I can assume that this is all just water under the bridge?

Edit: missed word

It is important because it will matter weather Google beleives the story or not after you contact them with full details to save your account.

Oh sorry, I was talking from the advertiser point of view. Thought this was the AdWords forum not the Adsense one - just ignore me.

best, a.

To make it even more complicated:

I also don't tell my visitors about the ads on my site, but they don't go clicking like crazy right away!

So what's this secret formula that makes your visitor (in this case your roommate) click your ads 20 times without you ever mentioning the ads on your site?

My roommate was aware that my site was both up and running, and had ads on it that generated me revenue. After he told me he clicked, I explained it would get me in trouble.

Hope everyones curiosity has been eased.
And since I no longer have hope of receiving an answer to my simple question in this forum, this thread is officially CLOSED.

I'll officially OPEN it again.

Hey, YOU asked a question. Do you think people sit around on their computer all day just waiting to answer your questions? There's a give and take. People answer questions because they get something back from the forum. If you're not willing to give back when people ask you, the LEAST you can do is be nice about not answering.

Now that I've gotten my something back for the day (It was fun berating you in public) here's my answer and my advice to you: It could happen at any time, from hours to days to weeks, or just before they issue you your first payment. Write a note to AdSense support BEFORE they shut you down.

prying, not conversational, in nature. They weren't trying to help, instead they were trying to catch me up

2 people advised you to contact google and explain, that's the best advice anyone in your situation can get.

Deeny,

I have sent you a sticky about the language.
I'll stick to Adsense here.

Another advice (besides contacting Google) is to never tell your friends (and preferably also not your family) that you have a website that makes you money when people click the ads. This forum is paved with threads of people who have friends that just wanted to help and clicked a few ads. This often results in getting banned. I also really would like to advice you to have a good look again at the AS TOS. There are many things that are not allowed and that could get you banned. If you don't like the terms, perhaps it's better to try and find an other program. I sure hope for you Google will not ban you. Best of luck!
