Do you notice advertisers running out of budget?

I set upo a page yesterday to deliberatly target a sector, to see how quickly google got on the ball, this was on a part of my site where google could not previously see and I wanted to test new code to allow the mediabot in.

Initially no dice, as the code was a bit wrong. When fixed, google was in like a shot with the adverts, which kept appearing for 12 hours or so and then quickly stopped completely.

This morning they are back again. I assume I am seeing advertisers with small budgets that run out?

I don't think you can assume anything to be honest. Although my gut feeling would be that it's not related to expiring budgets - more likely the targeting algorithm or spidering at work here.

Would your topic be of interest to individuals in certain countries during certain times of day? I have some pages that see great results during normal US business hours and have decent results during Indian business hours.

Not talking about actual results here, as the topic was simply selected to see how quickly the adverts appeared, the place they appeared was pretty much private to myself and a few others and hence not intended for clicking on!

I just found it interesting that google got it right very quickly, but the adverts dried up after a time and started again this morning.

Must be nice to be able to change the topic of your site at the drop of a penny.

I think tomorrow I will change my topic to Final Four NBA Basketball.:)

My earnings start dropping heavily in the evenings, probably due to budgets.

I work for money, not for audience. If audience responds poorly to my content - I will change it so I can monetize my site better.

Then you must have a poor site. Only good sites are ones that would survive without or before adsense on their merits.

So you are just filling the web with content built around a keyword. Do you have to buy traffic for this "site" too? You are one of the ones already in my filter most probably!

Well said Nitrous!

Personally I get a buzz out of the cash, but I get an equal if not greater buzz from the emails I receive from people telling me how much they like the site.
