Can adsense be placed on a internal intranet site?

Reason for asking is that we implemented adsense for search on our company intranet (hosted internally). Our stats have been something like the following:

To me that doesn't seem quite right for the number of clicks.

Do I have a problem?

Unless I'm misunderstanding something, the only people clicking on those ads are employees of your company?

If that's the case then you're not going to get credited for the clicks, and could get banned. Take it down. Those are self-clicks.

Agreed, this sounds like a bad idea. I don't think AdSense was conceived as a way to sponsor your company's intranet. Who runs ads on their intranet anyway?

Bad move. The intranet search is there to help employees find documents within the company intranet. Even if you want to make web search an option, this is a very bad way to go about it. Showing ads just doesnt seam right to me.

If I where you I would stop right away before Google disable your account.

Nitrous, it's a search. The ads are based on the keywords searched, I would assume.

Google offers search for intranet but it appears a bit pricey.
