Hi everyone,

I don't know if I am doing well. I just started with websites 2 months ago and I am making less then $1000 a month. I read about members here making hundreds of thousands a month with adsense and I can not even make a thousand. I can not figure out what i am doing wrong. I have read the forums here and try to best practices such as blending ads. I guess I just need to work harder.

Thank you for listening.

In two months not is actually not bad. Some people dont make that much. Advertise your site, build more pages.

I started 5th June 2004 with well established sites and my incom in August 2004 was in Your range.

Only November 2004 was my first beyond 1000 month.

In all my AdSense month, only 4 month where I had less revenues than in the previouse month.

Uhmmm...yeah! Only 2 months in and you are crying about only $1000 a month? Check your mindset here, what were you expecting? Accept the fact that that amount per month is not bad considering you only started *2* months ago!
Sheesh! Patience and persistence.

Actually I should be telling you to give up, all is lost already 'cause the net doesn't need another MFA site that probably has worthless content.

Oh, and welcome to webmasterworld:)

panadutchguy,
I don't see the problem, some sites make thouthands, others make hunders or nothing, we do not know what kind of sites you have, and you obviously do not know how much you should be making.
If you ask me, you are not doing bad based at the only information we have which is the 2 months, read some more and yu will feel better.

That's not really too bad. It took me two months before I reached 100!

Dude! - One of my sites I started putting adsense on 3 months ago hasn't even made me $25 and your "depressed" because you make this in a day?

A $1000 a month is a net income for a lot of people who go out and do a lot of hard work every day, and you're sitting behind your desk updating (or maybe not even that) a site.

I'd be very happy if I made that kind of money with my sites.

One day though...I will. =P

Panadutchguy, you have no reason to complain. You started only 2 months ago and you're already earning way more than the average AdSense user earns a month.

Just keep working hard, it takes some time too.

More original articles + minor link building = more visitors = more money. Its pretty simple that way.

More visitors + interesting stories = more natural links = better rankings = even more visitors = more money.

It may take some time, but you are not doing badly at all for a 2 month old site.

panadutchguy, I'll not repeat what everyone else has said since I reckon you're doing ok however we don't know your metrics.

Approximately how many page impressions and eCPM are you getting?

If your site is the one listed as your e-mail contact then you do have a problem:

error 403: Forbidden!

panadutchguy,

AdSense (or other Internet busiensses) are not get-rich quick schemes. They are like any other business- it takes time to develop and earn money. Most of the people here who earn thousands a month have been doing this for many months and years.

Unless you are paying for traffic/advertising or get mentioned on CNN, you realistically can not expect to be receiving a huge amount of traffic so shortly after opening your site.

Yup 1,000 isn't a particularly easy goal to reach for a typical adsense publisher so you should be very happy you're on the right track (consider that many own sites a lot older than a few months which don't reach the $25 a day mark).

In terms of improving just read around the forum. Experiment with ad position and colours. Remember that earnings raised depend on site type and traffic so try branching out into other topics and work on increasing the traffic that visits and spends time on your site.

Wow, panadutchguy, get your head out of the sky. Could you possibly be pulling our tails, or are you genuinely disappointed? Do you have mafia bills that you need to pay to keep your various limbs?

My goal is to be making that much in a YEAR, and that's AFTER my website expands by a factor of 30.

You didn't make $100,000 in your first month? Hmm... I'd check your ad placement and colors. Maybe you're in a low paying niche?

Panadutchguy, I saw your website and I think it's nice, no wonder your're making that money so quickly. I'm sure your income will grow more as your traffic grows. I think you meant 2 months with adsense but you're website has been running since 2002?

looks like you will be making a $100 a day very soon, you must be doing something that works.

Hmm......

New user, one post only, no reply to any point raised in the thread he started.

Any chain-yanking going on here I wonder?

Ok you caught me kind of. Yes what I said in the first post is true just not in the first person. I recently took on a partner for a special project involving data bases. He is having a hard time wrapping his head around how to make money off of Internet advertising and how it works.

All of the advice contributed is spot on. In fact I have been saying the same thing. But thought it might sink in better if others made the point. I personally think this forum is starting to get a little out of control visa vi the expectations some newer members have about adsense. Yes you can make a goofy amount of money but it takes a ton of work and long hours at least in the beginning.

Ducks and runs back to his old comfortable nic after a job well done.

Hi,

I'm not making a clear $1000/month out of ads on the Net even now (well, except at Christmas), and I have had sites up since before 1995.

So the "make $1m on your first day without even getting your fat lazy derriere off the couch" expectations do need to be tempered, I agree.

I've made LOTS of money of the Internet, just not through advertising. I'm hoping to change the balance of that with time, but still expect to make most of my money out of technology consulting until my clients notice that I'm out of touch... B^>

I think you would have done better if you had been honest up front. You would have gotten the same answers you were looking for.

ok. I ask for a thousand pardons. I figured that might get you guys going. It would me. It took me forever to get to a steady $10 a day. If it helps it appears to have worked. Panadutchguy is now retired so you all can stop asking for my url. ; )

Thanks

I recently took on a partner for a special project involving data bases. He is having a hard time wrapping his head around how to make money off of Internet advertising and how it works.

So, let's get this straight, you've taken a guy on as a partner who doesn't know how Internet advertising works therefore, presumably, he must be good at building databases?

Just why have you taken him on to "promote" Internet advertising if he doesn't understand it?

How can he build a database if he does not know how it is going to be used/applied?

It's like saying someone has a pilot's licence but here's a rocket, go fly it!

I could employ loads of database builders however if they do not understand my market products they are completely useless to me. They must have product knowledge to be able to create what I require.

Or am I missing something?

you should not be depressed for making $30/day. Actually, that is very good earnings considering that you are only 2-month adsense participant. I was making less than you in my first two months!

Now, I make thousands!

Others make millions!

Thanks for wasting our time. I don't really buy your new story either. I think you were just trolling.
