In google's eyes, what constitutes a worthy AdSense site?

all these people getting banned recently, but i am sure there are just as many that may get a warning to fix things up.

so, has anybody got even the remotest idea on what sort of site that google would like to keep on their books, or at least give a warning before pulling the plug?

maybe a site gets 1000 visitors a day with 100 clicks, or maybe a site with 100 visitors a day with 10 clicks of premier ads?

all speculation i know, but food for thought

I don't think it's about the clicks, it's about the quality of the site. Ie, sites with content made for actual surfers are imho worthy and sites made for ads and money making (MFAs) are not.

In the former case, the clicks are very likely to turn into conversions, while on the latter they do not. So the MFAs are simply spamming the system and thus propably get easily banned to raise both quality of the network for advertiers, and to make sure advertisers pay for actual clicks that have a possibility to generate a sale, to let the REAL publishers get revenue for their clicks.

makes a little sense

mikeybee,

Well, original content is a good start. If everyone had the same links with the same written content, the internet would be a waste of time, wouldn't it.

Well, original content is a good start.

Especially content that isn't stolen. People moan about scrapers all the time, but the most insidious offenders are the AdSense publishers whose sites look professional but are made up of articles that have been lifted from other sites.

Here's an older thread with some thoughts about that topic:

All what people being banned recently? I come here at least a couple of times a day, and it seems to me that there haven't been very many "I've been banned and I really didn't deserve it" threads recently. I've seen more in the past.

IMO, you have to step pretty far over the line to be banned, or have a site that has no value to speak of and therefore deserves to be cut no slack.

Google's criterion for what constitutes a worthy AdSense site is one that makes them money. From my experience they are not to concerned with site quality.

in my experience google sees in web2.0 sites the most value, gives them premium account options more easily etc.

I think the quality counts, but measuring quality is hard.
If instead, the Adsense representative that is about to ban you see you're earning a few thousands a month, that might trigger a warning instead of ban you.
If additionally, the adsense representative also sees you have an adwords account and you spend several thousands a month, then definitely they might give you a second chance.

If instead you are a tiny $100-$200 adsense publisher, they might think it doesn't worth the investigation.
