Is there any rough estimate what G keeps and gives out as a commision to websites?
I'm talking about small sites who don't have any special contracts with G.
30%? 50%?
Does it vary between site topics/categories? traffic?
TIA

Google isn't saying, for obvious competitive reasons. (If they told what the split was, they'd make it too easy for future competitors to cherry-pick publishers.)
In any case, it may not be a straight split: Knowing Google's fondness for algorithms, I wouldn't be surprised if the split were on a graduated scale or used some other complicated method of determining payout.

I wouldn't be surprised if the split rate was adjusted per-click or per-hour, to make the whole sum of money earned for the day fit an average value.

It seems my earnings on weekends is higher than on weekdays, on a per click basis that is.
I haven't actually done the calculations mind you, its just an "impression" I'm getting. (no pun intended)
