Someone has a program out there that surfs your sites and claims to have it come from seperate proxies. Does thisi work and will will google shut your site down. Just a question from something I found surfing on this topic.
Thanks

If you try click fraud from different proxies, it may take google longer, but I bet they still shut you down!

There is one legit use for different proxies, and that is you may see different adverts depending on the proxy location. This can be pretty useful at times.

Absolutely! While they certainly do record IP locations of the clicks it is the pattern of the clicks that is most telling. I'm sure they have their click-fraud profile very well honed by now, since this fraud is such a threat to their payday.

As far as I know google ads don't even show when your surfing through proxies.

They certainly do show. The default for my ISP is a proxy as it is for a hell of a lot of people. I also use proxies to see what ads show from different places.

If you google "topproxies" you will see a large list of 160+ web based proxy server sites that you can try your own site on to see which ads are being displayed.

Use of a proxy is not enough to hide your identity. If you go to the trouble of pinging the IP address, it will in most cases follow the trail right back to you. That is the default behavior of proxy servers. Anonymous proxy services are configured to block this type of info. Using most public proxy servers will allow you to beat geo-target systems, for example if you live in Canada, and you would like to view the same Adsense ad’s that a US visitor would see, a public proxy can help. But it will not hide who you are from a system that really wants to know you, and I assume Google digs very deep as part of its fraud protection.

Why would Google shut your site down because you're using a proxy? That could happen to anyone's website. Google probably has people visiting their website all the time using a proxy.

I think some of us are confused as to why you're asking this question. Of course if you're looking into clickbots, well committing fraud is a completely different question. If you're asking if Google will cancel your account because you're defrauding them, the answer is yes. Personally, I would be more worried about winding up in jail.
