I wonder when they will actually be mailed - if it is this week, some publishers might just receive them in time for some extra holiday shopping :)
Payment is exact (well, a cent less - but hey!).
I suppose the rule applies (correct me if I'm wrong anyone) that our friends in Holland will get their cheques first, a number of US are the day later, and then the next day the UK gets theirs (Liverpool and me in Leeds (both nortern England) checked in this morning on Wednesday.
This is a superb note of action by Google, and then must be praised.
Presumably people will now carp that the money will be taxed as part of their 2003 income instead of 2004.
Anyone who was expecting otherwise would have been misinformed because the payment was due within 30 days following the end of November which means even if the check was mailed on 12/31, Google would have still included it in your 2003 reported income.
This must be to make a point (A good one at that) and to show us what they can do, and not let a little holiday like Christmas ;) to get in the way this time ahaha!
The printers must still be burning hot after 2 payment rollouts so close together.
I do too, but that's nothing new. :)
This is delightful. The first check was supposed to take 4 days to clear since it was interstate but I called the bank to check and it's already cleared in 2 days.
Still wondering about that penny difference though. They're always testing something, maybe they're tweaking the accounting algo.
What I was wondering about is the possibility of matching AdSense payable to publishers against AdWords customers. All it would take is a penny each in a "holding" account to cross-match the data.
Haha I find it funny how one week Google is so hated for sending checks late and the next people are praising them...
Isn't that just like webmasters when their rankings go up or down? It's like a play on words from an old Beatles song:
"The love you make is equal to the money you take." :)
Assuming their tax year ends Dec 31 they want to get all of the expenses paid asap for a short year of adsense - otherwise they might have to pay 13 months next year - assuming they go to a better payment system.
And they only have to say that they've cut the checks, not that they've been cashed.
On the other hand if they do cough up the dough before the end of the year then Baby will get a new pair of shoes and I might even be able to afford to marry her mother.
Happy Xmas Everyone
Cheers
