So when I build my site on a particular subject and fill it with my own personal content, I then apply for adsense and after placing the code in my site ads on the topic will pop up on my site? Does adsense just spider your page for keywords and what are the factors or tips I can use to get relavent ads on my site. Thank you as I am a newbie

That's basically it - the spider might not arrive for a couple of days, so in the beginning you might not see relevant ads, but once the site has been spidered you should start seeing relevant ads.

You might need to adjust the wording on the page if the bot concentrates on the wrong keywords, or use section targeting to guide the bot, but in general targetting is pretty good. There is the MFA problem to consider, but I'd be inclined to ignore that issue to start with and concentrate on getting your site content online and implementing adsense as a first step.
