I just tested Oxado, a context-based AdSense alternative, on a few of my pages. I immediately went back to AdSense ads after I figured that all (really all) oxado ads were about gambling, poker, casino etc..

If it had been just off topic ads, I wouldn't have cared and waited much longer to let the algorithm figure out the topic of my page, but this gambling thing was too creepy and scared me (what if google bans me).

Hm...why is google so against gambling sites?
They do have ads for gambling sites as I've noticed.

So they can tell the advertisers that they have a clean network. Just like on TV, where many advertisers don't want to be on shows that are too racy or violent.

Hi,

The Oxado engine uses a number of "default" keywords when it can't isolate keywords, find relevant ads, or relevant ads are not paid very well. The "default" keywors are usually high-CPC ads, which include gambling, but there are quite a few others. If they don't give any results the engine will automatically switch to other ads (the same applies if the engine finds relevant keywords by crawling the page).

If gambling ads are a problem for you, just drop us a note and we will block them for your account.

Jacques.
