I also noticed a sharp decline in CPC over the last one and a half weeks. I know it's just speculation. But let's assume that the MFA sites triggered the smart-pricing algo to shoot me. If that's what happened, is it correct to assume that now all my advertisers (also the good ones) get a rebate?
Don't get me wrong. I'm not complaining. I still think that smart-pricing is a good idea. I'm only hoping to find the reason for the decline in CPC (and earnings) and I would be glad if this was it and I can now say that I have at least some control over the system by filtering bad Ads.
I reckon it could take up to a month for your smartprices (site/page) to recover from the MFAs. Although site smartprice is updated at least once a week (probably more frequently) the conversion cookie data is kept for a month. MFA sites probably manipulate the conversion data to minimise the price they pay, so banning them will probably result in an EPC improvement.
