Gang

March is not a good month for me

1. Ads are off target
2. I am a target of way too many site targeting ads

Traffic rate, traffic source and demographics are all the same, we ONLY get natural traffic. but

both CTR and eCPM are dropping. When i look ant my site i am not surprised. Ads are way off topic and many are pointing to sites like all-you-wanted-to-know-about-free-widget.info

who would click on such junk ads?

if google will keep allowing these low quality ads we will suffer loss of earnings and users will eventually become blind to google ads.

so, is it only me?

March is my best month to date so far. I have had three record breaking days. Hopefully it will keep getting better!

I'm doing much better. March 2005 I earned about $30. I've already surpassed that this month. I'm also on target to beat last month

So far March is better than Feb. It's about the same as January, but not as good as the record breaking December I had.

Pretty steady improvement over Feb and Jan. Even eCPMs are going up.

My March eCPM is down about 6.5% from February's, but average daily revenues are up somewhat.

I've been making some changes to the site that favor affiliate sales over AdSense, so I can't complain.

Historically visitor traffic begins to slow-up in March for my site, and continues a slow decline until June, when it really drops-off. Usually revenue drops in congruence with diminished visitor traffic.

Seems like advertisers also cut back on their budgets in my niche during this time period too, with ePC dropping to their lowest point during the spring-to-summer month (I'm sure other niches experience an increase during this same period).

August is the PITS for my site... with things beginning to pick-up the first couple weeks of September. And steadily increases until the winter Holiday Season.

ALWAYS has been the same basic traffic pattern that I have witnessed since 1997... Although Google's recent Big Daddy experimentation is causing a somewhat sporadic fluxuation with traffic flow to my site the past couple of weeks, as it seems every few hours there is a different number of pages from my site indexed in their SERPs...

Just have to wait it out until Google decides which algo permutation is most satisfactory for Google management. (imho)

March is bad for me. This past weekend was a 9 month low. Today is up. Go figure.

I'm down 35% from Feb so far for the month.

I had 7 months of increases every month. Then Feb was not a drop, but not an increase. Now, March is a drop will probably be below $600 for the first time since November.

Weekdays are higher this month and weekends are lower than last month. No change in impressions just eCPM.

March is hot for me :)

But then February was bad, but I think a good deal of that was poor choices on my part, something I was inclined to blame google for at the time, as it seemed unlikely my changes would have a big impact.

I don't much regret the mistakes, so long as I do manage to learn from them!

Having this discussion without describing your sector of interest is largely pointless.

For me, March has always been my second best month, April has always been the best for 6+ years.

I sell a product that appeals to people in the Spring. There is nothing abnormal about this year, a few more looking on the Internet, but largely growth totally inline with expectations for the season & Internet growth.

For me business is a tad better than last year, but that was totally predictable without any additional effort!

By August I will see rapid decline, by December I will be on vacation as it isn't worth going to work. It has been this way as long as I can remember....the pleasures and downfalls of running a seasonal business!

300% increase in both clicks and CTR
25% increase in impressions
75% decrease in earnings.

To say march has been #*$! so far would be an understatement.

Forgive my honestly, but unless these forums are primarily for bragging or, alternatively, crying on another's shoulders, most of the replies in this thread offer little of value. Why not share some of the reason you think your site is doing well or poorly this time of year? Now that would be really useful and educational!
