How many adsense ads and how many ads not run by Google? Just curious

One AdSense leaderboard, one wide skyscraper display ad, and some affiliate links.
(The AdSense leaderboard isn't on every page, though--for example, I don't use AdSense on my home page or in my root directory.)

I usually have 2 or 3 but now going to cut back and try something different with 1 or two ads coupled with links in special places. Let's see how that turns out?

I have found through experimenting for years that one well placed ad works best for my site.

Maximum of 1 ad block or adlinks unit per page, and on one page I have one of each. Works well for me.

Standard for all modern pages
120x90 in naviagation 300x250 in navigation
About 10% have also an ad in the content area. Depending on space, 160x600 120x600 338x280 250x250 120x240 468x60 is used in the content area

I use 1 leaderboard and one set of adlinks directly under my lefthand navigation bar. I've never tried more than 1 adblock per page as I think it'd make the site just too much of a mini-google.

Does placing only 1 ad on your page generate higher income from clicks? 1 ad block would effectively contain the highest bidders, and a click on one of those ads would give you a higher income. Does this sound logical? Anyone tried this method?
