Should I sign up now? or wait a bit.

Part of my site I want to use adsense/google search bar, but right now I don't have much traffic. I am going to wait maybe a month or two before I add adsense to it.

I was just wondering if it was ok to register for adsense or the search bar and not be using it, or will they cancel my registration if I am not using it?

I'm curious about this one too, if anybody knows the answer. I won't be ready to launch my site for maybe another four weeks (don't even have hosting yet), but can I apply for an account even without a url, and familiarise myself with the AdSense tools etc., in the time between now and the launch? Thanks.

chingchang - I signed my site up for AdSense and didn't use it for months while I developed traffic. I've had no problem with that.

Sleights - I would wait until you have an actual website up with a fair bit of content before applying.

When my wife built her site she had the same dilemma and I told her to put AdSense on the website ASAP so you get ads and potential clicks from the start as each click missed is a click you'll never see again.

Besides, it takes mediabot time to get your ads right anyway.

Seemed to work out OK for her site.

My main page is just temporary, it doesn't link to anything. Content is being worked on but I am not going to upload anything until it is complete. But I don't think I want ads on that part of my site anyway.. I want it looking as clean as it can be.

I have this uploader I wanted to put adsense on (http://www.example.com/upload), but I want to wait until I get more active users before I add it. I figure if there are no ads, more people will be attracted to my uploader, then once I get a decent sized user base I can add the adsense at the bottom, so it won't be annoying and the active users will see it.

I'm guessing it's fine to just register for adsense now, and then add it to my uploader section of my site in a couple months, if not please let me know :)
