Is AdSense gone haywire?

'Apartments In Chicago' showing up on every site...

Anyone else noticing a huge problem with AdSense? I'm not just talking about my own ads; ever site that I visit that has AdSense ads are for an 'Apartments In Chicago' as the 1st advertisement - all of the rest are correctly displaying contextual ads. Anybody else experiencing this?

Okay... Reading through some of the other recent postings in this section, sounds google is having some behind the scenes problems that is affecting all sorts of different things.

March 4th has been the worst day in months as far as CTR and eCPM. With 30,000 page views per day I typically do not see this major of a downslide (25% in earnings). There's always Tomorrow.

I have to agree. This weekend has been the strangest I have seen.
My traffic is fine but the ad targeting is very strange.
As well, my earnings on one page are up over 400% but the rest of the site is down about 400%.

This has never hapened before. I don't know what to make of it.

A lot of craziness going on Mar 3 - Mar 5. Speculations have been widespreac as to what Google is up to.

I posted in another thread that I actually have a PIP message on Mar 3, and I've already received my payment for January (received on Feb 25)

I also noticed those, "Apartments In Chicago" ads on two or three websites.

Just weird.

@Celgins; what part of the world/country are you located? Maybe it's a geographical thing. I'm in Minneapolis, which is not too far from Chicago.

Anyway, perhaps google is trying to enhance their geo-targeting, or something. My CTR is waaay done for this weekend, just like many others.

Hit the lowest epc and ctr in over 2 years of running adsense. Targeting seems all over the place.

I'm in US-GA. I just checked again and the, "Payment in progress..." message is still there.

I'm sure it has something to do with all of these, "tests" Google seems to be doing. Either way, no panic on my part.

If it said something like, "Payment reduction in progress...", then you would REALLY hear me screaming! :)

If all the ADS you see are about rents or whatever regardless of the site you visit, you should consider getting a good anti Spyware program... I had that happen to me a while ago whereas all the adsense ADS changed to something else.

No problems or oddities here.

I also have payment in progress still showing along with the following months earnings. I have also had a major drop this weekend. Unprecedented drop. I did notice some poor targetting yesterday, but haven't looked at it closely.

I agree with some of you: this weekend has been terrible for me, the same average of clicks but the worst cpc ever.

Same here...Feb was bad and then came March and earnings look even worse. Can no longer wait for them to sort their problems out.

Already replaced by an alternat system on most pages...a content relevant affiliate linking system. With most products paying up to 70% in commision (W.T.F.!?), I'm sure glad I did.

Okay, so it's unanimous that something was going on with Google/AdSense.

Any idea on what it is?

Hate to break it, but it's been my best Adsense week. Best thing you guys can do is move on and keep building content, nothing good will ever come out of discussing "How well you did" here.
