Hi guys,

I've got a few general content sites which were no very good performers with the Adsense code on it. I was always striving to put as few as possible ads on the pages. So I had only one well integrated 336 x 280 ad on every page. I was running about 1500 impressions per day and it generated a few dollars a day. Two months ago I decided to put a second ad on one of the sites. So I added a big leaderboard on top of the 336 x 280 ad. Impressions quadrupled and earnings doubled while ecpm was halfed. I waited for a few weeks and the earnings staid the same. So I did the same thing on another content site ... and again I got the same results. Impressions x 4 and earnings x2.

My question now is "why did my impressions quadruple while I only added a second ad format to the pages? I was expecting that my impressions would only double"

My only observation is Adsense has had problem after problem after problem with the impression count and it has not always been across the board, individual sites have had different problems, mainly 2x too high a count.

A guess:
Has the Media bot actually recrawled all your pages yet?

I've found that even if you change the code, the media bot may not visit for quite a while and this possibly could have an impact on your impression count.

Either way earnings up is good, almost surprising with a top banner.
