I am wondering what your experiences are with adsense image ads.
Do they stand out too much or are they hardly an eyesore? The main thing that keeps me from putting image ads on my site is that I do not want to have images that are animated and flashy.
So what are your experiences?

I saw a few "image ads" (display ads) when Google first began offering them, but I disabled them after signing on with a rep firm last fall. There was nothing wrong with the ads that I saw; I just didn't see many of them.

I never see them.
Try allowing image ads for a week as a test. Depending on your area, you may not see any, or you may get lots.

I tried them once, but I all I saw were "Public Service Announcments" in place of the ads. Looks like a shortage of image ads for the type of sites I run.

I see them rather often and some are fairly ugly. The worst are the flash ads because you can't block them without disabling image ads altogether. Well, I suspect you probably could if you knew the source url. The AdSense Preview tool doesn't work with flash ads.

Thanks for the response guys. I guess I wil givce it a try on a secluded page on my site to see what it gives.
But seeing that the targeted ads I get on my website are very few I doubt I'll ever see an image ad pop up.
