Well it's that time of the month when we all receive our checks. Couple days away! How was everyone's month of January?

Jan was best month ever for me, about 1k more than the average 3k. Looking at it it was a mixture of more traffic and one page of images that got indexed by image search (google) for a popularly searched term! It actually shows a pic of my GF...

Nothing to do with my sites! But that one page earns 40 dollars a day now?

Nitrous - Is that monthly income generated by adsense only? Or a combination of adsense and affiliate income? How many sites do you have and how many pages total? How many impressions per month total?

And whats your social security number?

I'm just kidding about the last question, but if the other questions are too intrusive on your work I understand. I've noticed that alot of people on these forums will post dollar amounts but not many more specifics, but thats understandable since we are each others competition!

You are about where I want to be with adsense income, so I would really enjoy knowing how you got there.

Thanks,

Eddie

GF dinner - sorted!
In answer to your other questions (Slow_eddie?)..

I have 10 sites with about 15 pages each. +5 sites with about 10 pages each. All html and very basic and amateurish.

All were written and published well before adsense.
They were all done for fun not money, with REAL and unique content on hobby based stuff. Some make good money, some practically zero.

This keeps changing about though with search engine and adsense, and advertisers over time. It all averages out and together income remains very stable.

You cannot expect to earn anything just by "making some content" because it wont work well or for very long. There is no point just adding pages of crap! You need REAL interesting content. Like I said in another thread, think of books. Some sell 50. Some 100, some millions, all depends on the content.

Crappy content will get you no natural links, crap se positioning, crap conversion (so low epc), no return visitors, etc. And your visitors will see a adsense trap and click back. So you get low click through rate too.

You need to put your heart into writing some REAL content about something that you know more about than anyone else. If you can do this then the rest is easy.

Total 200 to 220 pages. Not updated for over 2 years. I spent a year in bed ill for gods sake...

More interestingly still its all hosted on free servers! The kind you get when you sign up with an ISP. I have ten lots of 15mb! And some spaces have 3 sites in folders... Works for me.

Traffic keeps going up. Google msn, yahoo, open directory etc and more importantly PEOPLE like them! As do advertisers.

Income started at about 2k monthly when I signed up 2.5 years ago, went up to about 3k over year 1, and is now 3.8k plus for the last three months.

Create sites people WANT to visit. The rest just follows on naturally, its easier than fighting for trafic and clicks!

Oh ys, adsense only. I cannot spare the time to organise other affiliate ad schemes etc.

If I hadnt been too ill and stuck in bed for 12 months, I could have added a couple more real genuine sites, (not just a site with some "content" and updated the others. I suspect I would be earning much more if I had. So I am about to do this now in 2006. I think with a bit of work I should be able to double my income since I seem to have the formula!

However I am fortunate, just like book writers, not everyone CAN write a best seller!

Oh and some serious advice. This WILL help every genuin adsense user, and adwords advertiser.

Go through all the pages you have. Use the adsense tool. Bin every url you can find in UK, US pages that lead to any site that:

a) has adsense ads.
b) Is supported by affiliates, or by any other ads.
c) ads that are not related to your content
d) all "fake" "you searched for #*$!productxxx" with only links.
e) any directories
f) all sites that are not DIRECTLY selling a product or service.

All the above are just adding another layer of cost. Getting money out of MY content, inflating advertisers costs, REDUCING your average EPC as they are paying very little.

Every time I did this (monthly) My income took a few days to go up markedly. If we all do this then the freeloaders have nowhere to go. Result we (real publishers) get the whole advertising bufget and dont share it with the MFAs etc.

I forgot, 180,000 monthly page views over all these small sites. I dont buy traffic 65 percent from google, 30 from other sites/forums - rest from msn, yahoo etc.

Nitrous, thanks for an inspiring post. Clearing out the crap advertisers on my site was already on my to-do list -- you've given me an extra kick.

I have one site, not several, but again, it has information people want. And January was my best month ever with AdSense, over $800. That's from about 40,000 unique visitors for the month.

My goal for this year to is to get over $1,000/month, and I hope to get beyond by the end of the year....

Hi All,

I am new here. I am quite inspired by all the post here.

I just started by to develop my website 2 weeks ago and earn less than $10 untill now :(

And yes, i dont get any check like you guy do.

Nitrous, thanks for your tips and info. "Bin those ads" do you mean filter those ads in our adsense configuration?
And how do you know that those are traffic middle man or fake ads? can we click on them and check out?

Thanks for any input.

I just checked my history and it looks like payment was issued on February 22 in both 2004 and 2005. Of course that was back when checks were being mailed. I wonder when the automatic deposit will take place this month?

I did good in January and even better this month. Though Feb has only 28 days, still my earnings this month could supass the jan income.

After I think for awhile I have one question here.
Those ads appear in our page may not be the ads appear in those ppl that visit our page. Reason is different country will see different ads even the same keyword and webpage content.

I stay outside US and Europe. and I believe most of visitor to my page are from those continents. So, how can I apply the resolution? any idea?

I just sit here and do the work.

Optirex is right. You don't want to go overboard. I do find that the MFA directories not only lack real content but don't deliver on what their ads promise. So what I add to my filter list are a few direct competitors and the sites that don't provide useful content for my visitors.

Jan was my best month ever with a growth of >50% compared to earnings of Dec 2005. And February seems to add another >60% growth compared to Jan!
So I really can't complain. My curve looks pretty exponential :)
... well for now.
My site is about 6 month old. Earnings about $10/day.

Earnings for January 2006 were double that of January 2005 :D My site has seasonal traffic so going by that, I could be earning $600 per month over this summer.

I am using natural traffic to send genuine interested users of product and services to real sites. I am not just adding an extra layer of expense and clicks to advertisers. And yes yell ads like ebay ads pay very little. Again yell are just another aditional layer that adds nothing but cost to the advertiser.

The advertisers budget isnt endless. Why would I want to share it with yell?
