How do you Optimize for Relevant Ads?

Hello:

I've had my account accepted on Friday and yesterday I setuped my ads on my webpages. Early on I had one 57c click, but that was the only one.

So I read almost all the posts in here, read Google's tips and started making some changes. The first thing is that I created channels, so I could figure out which ads where the ones working, and which ones needed some changes.

Then I found that my ads where about things that my users wouldn't been interested about, so I decided to optimize some of the webpages titles, and descriptions, hoping to help Google in showing more oriented ads. Now, I have some questions:

1. Which is the best way to do this? To help Google to show what I think would be more interesting ads for my users.

2. After making some changes, some of my webpages showed far better ads with this kind of optimization, but other keep showing the same ads, allthough I made dramatic changes. Does Google keep a cache of the webpages? And how often does it update it?

By this being the second day, I think it might be too early to see some positive results, since I only had one click, I would like to know if someone might be kind enough to share with me, how long did it took to start having positive results?

On another topic, Im in Mexico so im able to receive my check on the local currency, but can anyone tell me in which banks may I be able to cash it in? I've tried to find this info but without succes, all I was able to find is that indeed it has been done.

Thanks for any help you may be able to provide.

Couple of things to consider.

Google doesn't always update the ads right away. Sometimes it can take a few days to get a new set of ads once you change the copy or the title tag. In the meantime you will endure Star Trek DVD ads on your "Under Sea Adventures" website.

The other item you did not mention is section targeting. Section targeting allows you to tell MediaBot which pages are espeically relevant by using the targeting tags (Google it). Maybe that is what you meant by "this kind of optimization?"

Good luck!

Hi:

Thank you for your answer, yesterday I found out about content targeting and now my ads are showing with the right topics.

Its just been four days now, but I've been following the advice: "test, test and test". And luckily for me each day the clicks keep getting better.

Cheers!

Create pages that are for your users and the relevant high paying ads will follow.

Kidd;
How long has your website been online?
How many pages does it contain?
How many visitors/impressions do you get daily?

?

Hi Tearabyte:

The website has been online for a week now, its a free service for webmasters and its just starting, so right now I have about 200 visitors and 1,000 impressions a day, but the number is getting higher by the day as well as the webpages.

My clicks had gone up as well, doubling the number of clicks each day, I have been testing and I have found just about the right ad formats. Hope the site keeps growing.

Cheers!

Hi Kidd,

1000 impressions a day after one week?
Sounds very good to me!
Keep up the good work!

no kidding, 1000 a day after only a week?!

What did you do to get visitors to come to your site?
If you've only been live for a week, you cant yet be in any search-engines, so what's your secret?

Hello:

Im a frequent in several programming and webmaster forums. So as soon as I announced this free service the site link started to spread quickly, and because of the nature of the service, each visitor that uses the service generates more visitors.

Right now Im waiting to be indexed by google, luckily for me Im in a niche market so I dont have to many competition, so hopefully I will be able to get around 2,000 o 3,000 visitors a day, it just a matter of time. Fingers crossed ;)

Cheers and thank you,
