Seems to me that the is no harm in discussing the attributes, if you are not allowed ot use them and try google will zap you. If you are allowed then explanation here will take load off google adsense support.
The attributes are not secret, they can be seen on most big sites.
Google themselves don't seem to provide the clearest documentation ever on these things.

I know, and have access to, some of those extra options. Although I think it would be really useful to talk about them to fully understand how they work and how to get the most out of them, I have to admit that AdSense seems to be quite secret about them and I don't want to do anything to hurt AdSense :-)

Not only are they reserved for us premium publishers, they also need to be activated from Google's end in order to work.

They are well enough documented once you get into the program.

I once spotted one that allowed the publisher to have an unlimited number of ads served on a single page. He had 10 or 15 leaderboards per page, and was definitely not a premium publisher.

mecjfl, these settings are allowed only to premium publishers. That's the program someone mentioned. You have to have milliions of page views monthly to be a premium publisher.

Of course, some of the settings people are mentioning are jokes.

But whether they are jokes or not, you can't use them.

Some non-premiums get them too when certain critical issues arise but you probably need a signigicant amount of page views for the consideration and have a legitimate need.

Premium publishers are also reviewed more carefully, I would guess, and for that reason AND because they are larger and less likely to try sneaky tricks, Google trusts them with special tools.

You won't find any MFAs (Made for AdSense) among the premium publishers, for example. Or I would hope not.

What's the big deal? There are still plenty of tools available to you. Use them and don't worry about what you don't have.

Yes you do. You control where you place the ads on your page. You control how many you place. You control the color palette. You control which type of ad you pick. You control whether you get text, image, or both kinds of ads.

And then there is the control you have over the content and design of your site.

But from your post in another thread, I gather you are concerned about the languages of the ads on your site. Have you emailed Adsense Support about that?

The issue isn't lack of control, it's not knowing how to control it.

Consider that you need to learn more about spiders and SEO as you can modify your web site to attract the proper ads, and in return your search engine listings will improve.

Do you have your page names, page titles, and headings H1, H2, etc. all properly defined and keyworded?

Have you implemented AdSense section targeting?

Have you tried moving the ads closer to the content?

Once you get it right you won't need shortcuts simply because it'll work.
