FireFox Referral Banner: Works Great for Educational Sites?

This is How I Made it Work for Me

I think that to use Firefox referrals, you must have low-paying content. I have a history-related website with 3000 uniques/day and was only making about $15/day with regular Adsense for content. Today, I tried Firefox referrals and beside the regular money I make, I have already made an EXTRA $17.20 and the day isn't over yet. I hear many bad stories about referrals, but I actually find them a good thing.

By the way, I was thinking about using Adsens referrals for anothers of my sites - anyone got any experience with that? $100/converzion seems very promising.

great results!

neither the referrals, nor the AdSense button worked on my site. i think i had a 0.1% click ratio.

This is an interesting observation, thanks for sharing. I think the problem with informational non-consumer type sites is that the visitors may not be in a buying cycle so there may not be many useful AdSense ads, and the performance may not be so great.

Offering the FireFox referral seems like an interesting fit. It might be an option to site operators who have had a tough time monetizing a non-consumer related website through the regular AdSense methods.

Anyone else have experience with this?

I get about 10-15 clicks a day on the firefox referral banners...but dont get paid more then $3 why? does it mean they just clicked on it and didnt download it? What is the conversion thing for?

Thanks for the advice, I'll give it a try on a scientific related site.

Google seems to weigh different clicks according to factors like geographical location, some downloads of the toolbar get you $0.10, others get the coveted dollar.

joaquin112, glad it worked for you, but sometimes I make a change and the following day things appear to be going up, then down for many days after that.. Please come back and let us know if it is still good one week later.

yes I will report back tomorrow and see if everything is going good again. By the way I am up in the $20 now.. woot!

My second question: do you think as time passes, firefox referrals are going to pay less and be harder to find? What do you think?
