Hi
i often check my site particularily when building
this puts up the number of page impressions and is thereforre against the TOS
is there anyway to block your own ip so you dont put up your impressions
is this a problem?

page impression or the number of, are irrelevant, it's the clicks, so just dont click on them and you will be OK

i should correct this:

""Google strictly prohibits any method used to artificially generate clicks or page impressions and closely monitors activity using engineering systems and human analysis.""

maybe someone else will be able to help you witha solution.

artificially means it is generated through another ways, like: autosurfing traffic etc.

I think you are chasing a ghost here. I don't think anyone has ever been barred for this, and when building a site it is inevitable that large numbers of page impressions will originate from a single IP. Google are not going to shoot themselves in the foot on such an obvious process.

thehelper,

First of all Welcome to WebmasterWorld!

When building your site, it is normal when you view your pages many times per day. Google knows that and AdSenseAdvisor has in the past mentioned that this is no problem--even on sites with CPM ads. If you want to have clean stats, without your impressions counted, there are several ways. One is to turn off JavaScript during the building of your site, but this of course only works when your site doesn't use JavaScript :)

Another solution is to add a line to your hosts file. This file can be found in \windows\system32\drivers\etc on Windows based systems. The following line in the hosts file will send all requests for AdSense ads to your local computer. Please remember that this will stop displaying of ALL ads, also ads on other sites than sites that you develop.
