Hi thehelper -

Multiple ad units work best on pages for which highly targeted ads are available. Sometimes when there is a limited inventory of ads for your site, you may see that only the first ad unit contains ads. You may start seeing more ads on your page as our ad inventory changes, or if your page content changes.

In the meantime, if you're interested in implementing an alternate ad visit [google.com...] .

Hi ASA,
Just a feedback.
On my site the phenomena appears unrelated to the ad inventory, rather to the short memory of mediabot.
Here is the scenario:
If a page has not been visited in some time only the first ad unit will be filled with generic site targeted ads and the subsequent units will be served no ads. Then the mediabot will visit and shortly after, proper ads will be shown. That is until some period elapses and another visit will be required. My site has thousands of pages and visitors frequency to any given page can be quite low. This results in empty ad units on majority of the pages.
One solution might be to increase the duration of mediabot's memory as a factor of number of pages contained within a site.

Just a "ditto" to what a1call has stated. I've seen this for quite a long time too. The ads lose their targeting at the same time that this happens.
