Now he has AdSense on his old web site
and we plan to make a new online magazine about his profession.
Now I have to discuss with him the old theme
"design against revenues"
The CTR on his old site is only half from similar sites on my account. To much logo, to much big graphic elements, not enough space for ads.
BTW, My Mum is considering becoming a publisher. The other day on the phone she started talking about html editors -- I nearly fell off my seat. How could I ever knock back a link exchange? :)

As he is also the godfahter of my older doughter, we invited him. My wife mentioned my AdSense income.
I mentioned this also before, but when I talk about this, he belived that this is something complete abstract like the high score in a computer game.
He works independent in an area heavy shook by the economic situation in Austria and Germany.
Many previous successfull people in his bussiness area went bancrupt.
He took far to long time before his decision to reconstruct his business model completely.
I hope to have him next year at the same time living 50% by AdSense and 50% by new clients in his business.
I have nearly one year tried to convince my sister that she has to start with a website and put AdSense on it. She has a lot of knowledge of a specific niche and that niche pays very well on the net, but she simple doesn't understand it when I talk about the money, just as in your case it's too abstract. I'll try your tip and ask my mum to convince her :)

Beside the exibition, much time to expand his current site for AdSense.
