2 days ago google's service was down and all i was getting is hurricane relief ads..it looks like its back to normal now but paying very low. Are your earnings back to normal or still low?

My stats for the last few weeks have been all over the map. For years I could predicy what my best (Monday) and worst (Saturday) days would be and my EPC would stay within a 20% range. Over the last few weeks my EPS has bounced around by over 50%, there's no pattern to best and worst days and I'm seeing really wierd click values from as much as $25 to as little a $0.01 on channels where it's normally quite steady at, say $0.50.

Something is odd, but I don't know what's causing it. Overall my bottom line earnings havn't changed that much though, it's just that there seems to be WAY more variation than normal.

Sunday was really good for me, today looks bad. In 2005 I don't think I had a single Sunday that was better than a Monday.

Up significantly, with a CPM that is very high for our site (more than 50% beyond our average CPM.)

But our revenue has been down to almost 1/2 since Jan. 19, when traffic dropped nearly 1/3 overnight. For such a big drop in revenue, I have to assume high paying pages are part of the 1/3rd "missing" pages.

There's something brewing in the datacenters, lots of changing results (Big Daddy is what they are calling it?). Every day brings up a different page count for my site. Many days bring up different results for certain search terms, too.

I think that the abnormally high CPM's today are from that - ie. certain pages that pay highly are showing in today's results, whereas those that pay poorly were in last week's results. And so on. Traffic is still the same, down at least 1/3rd.

Our main site was rock steady ever since the Bourbon update last Spring. And steadier still beyond that.

We never experienced any poor targeting or any Google-is-down situation, and traffic is right on target for a Monday.

this month has just been crazy for me...nothing like december. December has been steady..i pretty much knew to a penny how much i was going to make that day...this month it goes up then down and up..its crazy....and i have more visitors then last month but my stats are all over the place.

i have very similar situation to btas2.

ecpm, while steady as a rock in 05 has been fluctuating by as much as 50%, but the fluctuations up are always into high realms, while the downs are comparable to good days in 05 - so i consider the changes good, but i do wish the ecpm was more stable so i could predict the days better. historically, weekends were bad for my site in 05, but they're GREAT in 06, yesterday, a Sunday, was my BEST DAY EVER WITH ADSENSE (yay).

Still very low. I think this is tied to the technical problems they are still experiencing (servers not responding, ads not being served, targeting not spot-on).

Questions that come to mind are...

1) If the click-through-server does not respond, how are we supposed to earn money?

2) If ads are not being served, how are we supposed to earn money?

3) Why is do we see these problems, but don't hear back from Google? Why is there no system status page?

I know that running a huge service like Adwords/Adsense presents some challenging technical problems, and I can accept that. However, I also expect a company that is valued at 126 billion dollars to run a system that is 100% available.

I beat my best month ever.

There may have been some problems on Saturday, but if so they were gone by Sunday.

I'm pretty philosophical about server problems. If we aren't earning, well, neither is Google, so they have a big incentive to fix them quickly. If you are so dependent on Google that one or two days of hiccups at AdSense threaten your livelihood, then take that as a wakeup call to diversify....

Well up for me (best month ever by a long way). Having a bit of a downturn at the moment, but I'm not complaining!

Friday wasn't very good for me, but has been normal since then.

My monthly earnings have hit an all-time high.

Jan is completely normal. Low start, coming back up in the last few days (both as expected).

Well, how is my january?
Wonderful!
I just hope the trend continues, and it's not just another rollercoaster bump!

I've seen a few more PSAs than normal, and at the same time the Adlinks haven't displayed either, however January has blown every record of mine out of the water.

At the moment I'm 16.67% up on my best ever month and expect it to be about 20% by the end of the day.

Let's hope it stays this way!

Yesterday was my first day over $100 and January will be my highest gross month ever.

I'm having some targeting issues on just a couple pages and I've asked Google to see if they can improve them from their side (which they have done for me before).

EPC has trended slightly lower as the month progressed but seems to have stablized. I am seeing some unusual intra-day fluctuations on the EPC though. And, Saturday started out really bad but recovered by the end of the day.

January has been great for me - I've seen triple digit growth in traffic and revenue on two sites. Much better than December (which is not that surprising - some major events in January helped generate traffic to my sites).

If I can maintain the same numbers in Feb or within 10%, I'll be happy.

215% increase over January 2005
270% increase over December 2005

If this trend holds up throughout the year, I'd be really really happy.

I wonder about your good experience. Our site lost in January

- 30% page impressions,
- CTR went down to 0,6 from always above 1 and
- eCPM went down to 1.8 from almost 3 $.

And ... I have no idea why. We publish a automotive site for 7 years now and I never experienced such a huge shift. Any explanation welcome!
