Why do I get more impressions from Adsense than pages from Analytics?

Adsense shows impressions as pages, no matter the number of Ads that you're running. (It's on their help
section).

BUT, I get more "impressions" from Adsense than "pages" from Google Analytics.

And the difference it's under 1,000 pages/day.

First I thought about Java, but both use them. :-(

It doesn't make sense.

BTW, Google doesn't answer my questions about this issue.

Any idea?

Thank you,

It might be that some of your more popular pages are cached by busy ISPs (like Aol). I think views on those cached pages would show on your Adsense stats but not on your Analytics stats.

Could you give a link to that? I don't think that's accurate.

[google.com...]

How will multiple ad units affect my reports?

We count an ad unit impression each time the AdSense ad code is executed by a user's browser and an ad unit or link unit is displayed on your web page. If multiple ad units are displayed on your page, multiple ad unit impressions will be counted for that page view.

However, only a single page impression will be logged when a page with Google ads is loaded, irrelevant of the number of ad units.

As a result, when viewing reports with ad unit impressions, you may notice a decrease in your clickthrough rate and your effective CPM compared to page impression reports, as a result of the multiple ad units feature.

The difference it's under 1,000 pages/day, but the average traffic is now on 6,000 pages/day.

So the difference (some days) Adsense Vs. Analytics it's up to a 16%.

Too much for my understanding.

The second statement seems to contradict the first one. If multiple ad unit impressions will be counted for a page view, where is that count displayed if it's not displayed in the Page Impressions?

You can view your stats in AdSense two ways: 1) by page impressions or 2) by ad unit impressions. The default is page impressions. So the two statements are not contridictory, they just fail to point out that by selecting a different report you can get the two stats seperately.
