Should I notify Google?

Hello,

I have been running a forum for a year, with Adsense on it. I plan on putting Adsense on my website, and expect a big increase in impressions and clicks. Could Google mistake this as fraud, so should I forewarn them?

Thanks.

Doubtful they'll be concerned however why has it taken you so long to include in the main web site?

I changed my site from being a subscription based site to a free, adsense supported site. During the changeover I opened up over 600 pages to viewers for free.

I emailed Google about two weeks before I made the changeover and the day after the changeover was complete.

They acknowledged it, and I saved the email for my records. I did experience a major increase in my adsense click-throughs. Prior to making the site free, I had some free pages on the site that had adsense on them.

At least I have it on record that there was a reason for the large increase in clicks.

I don't think you need to tell Google. I don't when I add new sites and so far no problems.

No need to contact them. I emailed the Adsense team to clarify before I added to multiple sites and they confirmed that you just go ahead and add it.

I would think that google wont mind a large increase in clicks as long as it is spread (geographically) or IP wise.

Very very few people can get lots of clicks / hits from several ISP and / or netblocks without having people actually coming to visit the site.

So I would assume that as long as you dont have repetitive clicks from the same IP's / hosts you would be fine...

It does however help if you mail google with stuff even if it is just to show that you atually do care about the TOS and that you are aware of what ahppening on your site and your google account. If a problem arrises later then you can at least refer back to the emails...

So no i wouldnt remove tha adverts if your site visitors come from different places.

hehehe I meant to say... it is always good to have documented communications to cover yourself with...

Don't know exactly why I said "No I wont remove the adverts" Of course I wouldnt!

It's late and am reading to many topics!
