I keep noticing more revenue than the day before, almost everyday for the last 6 or seven days (I even reached record earnings 4 times in the past 5 days!) Anyone else noticed the same lately? or is it just me? (I did some optimizing 2 weeks ago, so I'm not sure..)

Are students now in vacation or something? (my site visitors are mainly students)
btw, What times of year do we expect more web activity from students, and what times we should expect less?

Same here. Traffic increased from average of 1000 unique visitors to 4000 unique visitors per day to one of my sites. Judging from the search engine keyword referrals, I think they must be students.

I'm seeing a big increase in traffic, AdSense revenues, and--most significant of all--affiliate bookings. All three are currently running at last year's peak-season (summer) levels.

I think it's just the usual post-holiday surge, at least in the travel category.

I'm seeing no increase in traffic but huge increase in ctr for one site. Earnings are at an all time high for periods in which I am not running any ppc.

I too am experiencing an all time high, but this is mainly because January is THE busiest month of the year for my niche. My daily yesterday was treble of a daily in December (but not treble the amount of traffic).

Also one of my 120 x 240 blocks that should show two adverts is only showing one large one. Strange ...

Me Too!

Traffic and earnings about double last months daily average. Does anyone know if internet usage typically increases this much in January? I have searched for internet usage patterns (month to month change) but I have never found anything that lists this. Has anyone else found such information?

I would assume that winter months are better than summer months. But, I already assumed January would be a bad month and I was wrong about that.

I have sites over many different categories and the earnings are all UP! I think that people are going back to school and also back to work. Things are finally resuming from the silly season.

I actually hope that Google are raising their overall payout to publishers. They know that they will have serious competition very, very soon ;)

What competition? if you mean YPN, this is only a US domestic thing. Did they announce any plans to go international?

Yes, same here. But it's normal for holiday-related site. A lot of people have to decide already now wich days day will use for holidays. So they have to decide where to go etc... Plus, a lot of people where still in Newyear/Christmass- holidays, students home etc...

Checkout your Traffic logs. Determine which Search Engine is sending you more traffic. Sometimes the sites get top rankings in other Search Engines and thats the reason of more traffic.

I guess its just your site is doing good now and getting good ranks. Google takes quite much time to open all the doors of traffic that a website deserves.

All the best for your new increased traffic :)

Yep, same surge for the past two years.

Once December 26th came every day has been very good except for a steady New Year's Eve, which was to be expected, and again similar historical performance.

New Year's Day was much better than expected and last weekend my best ever Saturday and Sunday.

If my earnings track the same performance and increases as the past couple of years I'll be very happy:-)

For me the traffic is high (+10%), but my earnings are goind down since 1st january :(

Dont know why...

The ads are lausy (almost generic) and the targeting is not very good.

I was the impression that this is normal thing in January, but seeing this thread I think it's not :(

I have just the opposite.

December was phenominal and all of a sudden things have slowed down. Can't even use up my daily AdWords budget. Previous months daily amount were gone by mid-day. Maybe this is normal for my niche, though last year December was slower than January.

Earnings are up on my site as well this month. Broke my record for one day earnings yesterday with ecpm through the roof. The only problem is I know it won't last long. Maybe someone at the plex forget to turn on smart pricing for 2006 :-)

I might have thought that if affiliate books weren't up even more.

Mentat,
Do you think that it's all down to bad targeting or are you seeing MFA's targeting your niche with badly written ads.
