Is it possible to block advertisements about a specific topic? For example lets say you run a website about saving unicorns. You don't want advertising for hunting unicorns to appear for moral/ethical reasons, not because they are competitors. I know you can block them on a one by one basis but this is rather time consuming, wondering if there was an easier way.

Unfortunatly you can not block AdSense ads based on topic. At this point in time you can only block by individual advertiser.

Google is always tweaking AdSense, so maybe if enough people ask the Google AdSense folks for this feature directly, they will add it.

Instead of waiting for the ads to appear in your site, I would go to google.com and do searches on the "keyword or phrases" relevant to your site.

Once there, you could write down all of the advertisers url that show up by going a few pages deep. You should not worry about Unicorn hunters, could not find one advertiser on that search word. ;) Bears on the other hand, are in trouble :O

I am having trouble blocking a URL as even if I copy the exact URL it still is not excluded.

Also can you block the entire site and not just a particular page eg www.asite.com rather tahn having to block www.asite.com/page1 etc etc as we want to block EVERYTHING from asite.com .

I tried www.asite.com/* but it didn't work.

Only had adsense up one day on one page and so far pretty impressed I have to say

Peter, I excluded some URL's recently and it did not take effect immediately. You might need to wait say a day or so to see the effect of an exclusion.

Yes, you can block the entire domain.

Don't forget that www.domain.com and domain.com are considered two different URLs in the filter.

It can take a couple of hours to take effect.
