Adsense Served Via I.P.?

I have noticed recently on poking around the Internet that some sites are apparently detecting my I.P. and serving up Adsense Adverts based on that - for example a hotel ad.

Most of these sites have nothing related to the adsense ads served up - some are just pictures for e.g. totally unrelated to the Adsense advert served up.

AdWords ads are geolocated.

For instance I can choose which countries I want my tourism ad to appear. Therefore if I want my ad to show up in Italy I would have one aimed at that market in Italian. It's up to the AdSense program to decide if my ad is appropriate for the website.

If you are in Italy and on a site related to my business hopefully you will see my ad in Italian.

So the answer to your question is yes - ads are served to you based on your IP.
