Which will trigger better REVENUES? Using Ad Link Units or descriptive regular ad units?

Any insight?

It varies by site and page. Adlinks do better on some. regular ads on others.

Overall, adlinks do better for me by about 20% when I have both styles on the same page. But the adlinks are in a little better spot because the adlink block size fits better there.

But on pages where I switched from a 250x250 or 120x240 regular ad to a 125x125 adlinks in the same location there hasn't been a big difference.

The most interesting thing about running both styles on the same page is that I expected to see a drop in CTR for the regular style ads, and that didn't happen, that was a very pleasant surprize.

I have both on each of my pages, regular ad units get higher ctr compare to adlink which produces only 5% of my overall adsense earnings.

I have one AdLink unit on my home page, which produces one third to one half of all the site's earnings. I've tried AdLink units elsewhere in the site, and they do nothing at all! You have to experiment.

The highest earnings per pixel have AdLinks.

But since I have more space, I use also 300x250 and a search box.
