adsense type program without any smartpricing - is there such a program?

Chitika USED to be. Read the threads in the Advertising and Affiliate Programs about some recent changes. Their approach isn't exactly the same, but it has similar effects.

Yahoo so far doesn't, but when they open the program up more, I'll be really surprised if they don't implement something like smart pricing, even if they don't call it that.

yahoo is only for USA traffic i think i am right in saying. All well and good but would not be making any money off my international visitors with them.

Yes, and then the honeymoon will be over, and the cries of betrayal will begin. :-)

hermes, right, that's why I said "when they open the program up more."

efv, 'cries of betrayal," indeed. Notice how the posts about leaving AdSense have really dropped off lately?

Somebody with Yahoo said at the Y!PN sponsored lunch in Vegas, "We have no plans to have anything like smart pricing."

Of course, barely five minutes later the same person said, "We'll be adjusting how much publishers earn based on things like 'how well their clicks convert.'"

Uhhhhhhhh.... isn't that the same thing as smart pricing? I was surprised that only about 1 in 20 audience members gave an outward sign of "the heck?" when the Yahoo-er contradicted themself. Then again, the food was quite good. :)

whoisgregg, did they REALLY say that? That's amazing. That's exactly how Google describes it....

Yes they did. It really seemed like once they said the words "smart pricing" and "no" that a lot of people stopped paying attention. :/

Perhaps they intend to call it "dumb pricing".

Let me just say this in regards to YPN. They definetly have smart pricing and it definetly is account wide.

I know because my epc went from avg. .78 epc to .12 for the same keywords, traffic and sites and it affected the whole account.

Contradict me or say whatever you want. It's there.

That sounds like someone to watch. He/she could be running for President one day...
