As of this morning I only see ads about web- and domainhosting on most of my pages (none of my pages is about that subject). At the same time the stats are going wild with some $5-$7 clicks.
Anyone else having this pleasure?

Not here.

But I'm busily writing a page on the do's and don'ts of the subject.

Seeing literally 1/100th of usual earnings and 1/10th usual CTR at this time, but ads seem fine. The last few days I've gotten early AM click dumps, so this isn't so far off par...

No one else yet?
It's 5 hours later and I still only have PSA's and bl**dy web- and domain-hosting ads on my most important site!

On one of my sites CTR has increased almost 400%. Either is some click dump or it's click attack, which I doubt since CPC is normal. In any case, I'm a little bit worried.

My stats are unusally low also. Weren't they offline yesterday for some maintenance (or was that adwords?)? If so I think that usually causes weird stats for a day or two.

I know why my revs are low - ain't no visitors. I'm getting maybe 40% of normal saturday visitors.

I wish the gas prices had stayed at $3.50 so people would have stayed home.

Even at $7.50 in the UK it seemingly doesn't have any effect!

Seeing very low eCPM and earnings are unusually low today.

Hmm, One day later, and on my main site still only PSA's and ads about web- and domainhosting. Still nobody else having the same problem?

Agreed. On Saturday between 1200 and 2400 (Adsense time) I received just 15% of total days revenue, which is VERY VERY VERY unusual for my site. Main cause seems to be an unusual low CTR combined with an unusual low EPC. A deadly combination.

Usually I am not participating in earnings threads, but now I am starting to wonder - what the heck is going on?

mzanzig,

Thanks for the reply. Note this is not an earnings thread! It's a thread about my website showing PSA's and untargeted ads for 2 days now.
Could your earnings be down cause of untargeted ads and PSA's? Did you check your website(s)?

humblebeginnings,

I don't SEE a difference, but as my main site has plenty of pages, all I can do is probe here and there. The targeting seems to be unchanges - i.e. for most pages it is very good. No PSAs other than in the usual spots (I have a few pages that AdSense simply refuses to target, but I never really bothered to find out what's wrong).

With regards to the thread topic - I think that something indeed has gone wild with AS. On one hand, Google seem to launch new features and beta products every other day now - on the other hand, they somehow seem to forget about proper communication of all this, especially towards their publisher base.

Just my $0.02

Here's a remotely possible answer to humble's issue:

Been scratching my head for two days now wondering why hardly any visitors to my site.

Turns out the reason is that Content ads on adwords has been disabled on two of my biggest campaigns. And, I didn't do it - they are simply not showing.

If other adwords folks are having the same issue then that could be why you are seeing off-targetting and PSAs - there aren't any ads to display.

I'm advertising in the computer techno area.

Sailor - thank you for the update. To me, this sounds like a very good explanation. Argh!

Good thinking sailor!

My adwords campaigns are OK, both the content and search networks are enabled in all campaigns.
I am from Europe, perhaps G messed up some US Adwords campaigns?

Anyways, if Sailors theory is correct, those of us who make some bucks with arbitrage should consider pausing Adwords campaigns for now. And that will make things worse for all Adsense publishers!
