Whoah.

Exactly right, where do I log in?

(Of course if it isn't working any better than analytics, no real hurry)

[google.com...]

I saw this on a site last week (must have been a beta tester).

Would like clarification re: CPM or CPC if CPM I am not interested if CPC and competes against my current advertisers that would be fine

A big problem with it is that you can only include 1 logo and site description, which is bad if you have more than 1 website using AdSense.

They should let us change it on a channel by channel basis (since most people will have different websites on different channels).

This looks grrrrrrrrrrreat!

Although it doesn't have the flexibility required for someone with multiple sites, I'm sure over time Google will improve it and add that flexibility, and other stuff based on the feedback we offer. But as a starting point, it is a much, much better starting point than the referrals program.

Am I right in thinking that we can't add the actual adverts yet? I can't find anything in my Adsense account.

Google won't giv you any money for signing up someone up. The least they could do is give you the $5 fee needed to sign up.

Stop being greedy.

If I want my own advertisers I'll put my own link and cut out the middle man and not worry about smrt pricing and charge whatever the market dictates.

Nice.

Now when people do a web search for something very closely related to your content, they'll see the ad on google.com that YOU sourced before they click on yoursite and by-pass you all together.

You're going to go to work for google and they're not even going to pay you, but hijack the advertisers you source and gorge themselves on the revenue.

Way to not be evil.

Exactly hdpt00! Google is sticking their greedy hands into my pockets and I will have none of it! Give me a finder's fee, greater percentage, and ability to moderate the advertisers and their benefits and I might go for it. But having us subscribed by default is damned shady if you ask me!

You need to look at the bigger picture. This is a "Cooperative Game" in which everyone wins.

How could I possibly win by giving up a % of my in-house advertising revenue to Google when I didn't ask for it to begin with? If I offer my own in-house advertising options where I get to keep 100%, and my sites sponsors get more out of the deal, how do either of us win if they go through google and get less and I get less? The only party to win is Google! Period.

...unless you can't get your own advertisers, in which case, I doubt anyone would go through google to target your site anyway.

I have my own direct advertisers and this still seems like a nice idea (although they need customization per SITE not per ACCOUNT).

Just because advertisers buy ads at Google doesn't mean they will stop advertising on your site directly.

In fact, in my case, I have advertisers that buy with me directly and still want MORE ad exposure. This will give them an easy way to do that by allowing them to advertise in my existing google ad block placements.

I would like the $20 bounty if I'm sending them a new adwords advertiser though, especially if that new advertiser decides not to advertise on my site, but still spends money on Adwords.
