Site plunged to $47/Day from $106 - Culprit - CPM Targetted ads which have nothing to do with my site content (It was a christmas shopping site and mine is a computers related), As soon as I blocked the CPM Advt. revenue up again to $83 (and the day still is not completed, I hope it came back to normal), G always says that we choose the best possible revenue for ur site is it the best possible revenue dropped by more then 50%, shoudl't we first allow advertisers before they can show ads, Considering the fact that the ADS ARE NOT RELEVANT AND CAN CONTAIN ADULT LINKS.

Same problem here, the only way is to use URL filter but another CPM ad shows up.

I hope G is AWARE of the fact and will do something about it.

I agree and have seen the same happen. I put it in my wishlist (number 3) at [webmasterworld.com...] msg #:36

3. option to opt in/out of site targeting on any given site - 99% of the time the ads are way-off base for targeting the particular page they are shown on. Site Targeting ads may work for a very small, tightly themed site, but fail miserably for diverse subjects/multiple topics on a larger site.

Of course the best solution would be to give publishers the control to assign topics/keywords to specific channels in their control panel and only allow site targeting ads that match the particular topic/keywords be shown in that particular channel.

You will see a single ad, blocking whole ad block (With huge font), those are CPM based advtisments.

Not necessarily, that could also be an expanded ad, a fairly recent thing--Google fills up the entire block with one ad because their algo. predicts it will perform better.

The best way to see if you are getting CPM ads is to look at your reports. Are you getting earnings without clicks in any of your channels?

Re the reduced income, Google puts up CPM ads when the algo. predicts that they will out-earn CPC ads. Clearly the algo. is sometimes wrong. This isn't the first time someone has reported this problem.

Tell Google about the problem. They have heard about it before--ASA has commented on it. They should be working on it. If you make less money, so do they.

I've had the same issue with block ads. My income dropped so I checked the ads. Fifty percent of my ads that day were from two advertisers with products that only fit on a couple of my pages, yet they were showing throughout the one site. They were crowding out a whole block of ads on each page that were exact matches for the page content.

I blocked the two advertisers URLs and my income went back up.

So I lost a lot of income that day, and possibly many other days where I didn't check the ads close enough, due to some cheesy ads placed by some inexperienced Adwords marketing person (or maybe by some devious competitor?).
