i saw the border of adsense in jenstar is transparent.

so , i make my ads border also transparent, but the ctr climbs high, from 0.4% to 1.2%,

i feel that the sudden climb will lead to a disable.

is this allowed to make the border transparent?

much thanks.

Google gave my site a thumbs up when they reviewed it (part of the optimisation service), and I had transparent borders.

Lots of sites present their ads this way, and the palette customization feature of the Adsense ad unit code layout screen lets you do it, so it must be OK with them.

As long as you use code generated by the Adsense site, and not modify the colors in your adsense code by hand, then you're OK.

If you're worried about the CTR increase you could drop adsense support a line, mentioning you think your CTR has increased because you made your ad more efficient on the page.

It's known as blending, a recommended Adsense implementation, check this link:

I always use transparent border and have only one ad unit located in the upper left body of every pages. The result: consistent 20% ctr.

No problem. Another technique is to use three ad units "above the fold," and to use body text that closely resembles the AdSense typeface. By tricking clueless users into clicking on ad links disguised as directory or navigation links, you'll make more money--at least until advertisers stop using AdSense or block your domain.

There is nothing wrong with hand coding your adsense code. Some people even have it generated on the fly. Like you can have your channel changed at differnt times of the day or rotate userids. G has no idea if the code came from their page or was hand entered. I have some sites that have the code on thousands of pages. I just run a search and replace to fix the code if I need to make a change. There is no rule against hand typing adsesne code. You just can't make something outside what the page can generate. There are no banned colors they use the entire spectrum of color.

It is possible to do this however recommended to do it through the Adsense code generator so that their algo can decide whether you are trying any illegal masking techniques etc.

I once tried a manual code change and it wouldn't display the colours I required however using the generator it was fine!

I think the program is very sensitive to anything that's different from what the code generator produces, even the spacing. I noticed that ads weren't showing on a page, checked the code carefully, compared it to another page that should have been identical, and it appeared to be. But it still didn't display! Then when I copied the code from the other page, where ads were showing, it worked. I still don't know what the difference was.

The moral of that story is to be very careful when you are doing multiple file find-and-replace.

When trying something new, use the code generator page just to be on the safe side.

I wouldn't worry about it. It's not that high. I have sites running in the 20's to low 30's, percentage wise. Making your CTR climb means you are doing it right. One site I have about widgets, was consistently running at 7% until I removed an ad block and moved the remaining one to the top. My avg for last 2 months 24%.

Before you ask, yes I have been SP.
