Google claims to pay more for CPM ads or they won't show the ad. That has not been my experience. In fact the opposite.
In theory, if you have a lot of sites doing site-targetted ads, that means you have a good site. It should actually be worked into smart pricing in my opinion as a + to good publishers.
In reality, CPM ads pay very poorly. I was pretty sure which ads were site-targetted, but only in the last couple days got confirmation because a couple of the big CPM advertisers sent me a note telling me they were doing so.
I keep getting new advertisers site-targetting every day. And with each new one, my income goes down.
I can't shut it off. Google offers me no tools to do so. I don't want to ban these advertisers. They also have keyword ads. Plus, the targetting of these guys could not be more on target. This is so frustrating.
What is your exeperience. And if you don't know enough about this topic and you are a publisher, it behooves you to find out.
those random CPM are a waste of space on my sites.. those CPM ads that appear all the time are the ones i don't mind..
