A page impression is when the page on it has been viewed once. For example you might have 3 ads on your page. This would could as 1 page impression but 3 ad impressions. Does that explain it?

Adsense is not a program that pays you per 1000 impressions. It pays on clicks. You might get 10,000 impressions, but unless anyone clicks the ads you get no money.

If the ads on your site are cpc (cost per thousand impressions) then yes you will earn money for the ads being shown on your site but you only get a payment when the amount has reached $100 or over per month and this payment will only get dispatched at the end of the following month.

I think it's getting a bit complex at this point!

OK - to simplify.

Goole has two types of advert - cpc and cpm. cpc ads pay you per click, and cpm pays per 1000 impressions. Most of the ads you will see on your site are pay per click ones. The other type has been recently introduced and tend to be image ads in the main. You probably won't see too many of them on your site.

To get on your site, cpm ads have to outbid the regular pay per click ones, and not that many advertisers want to pay that much on cpm campaigns.

You get paid towards the end of the next month. IE November's earnings will get to you just before the end of December if you make $100+.

Hope this helps.
