what will happen if you have 2 blocks of ads and 1 showing Google ads and other YPN (where Google don't get ads)?

Yes, that would be a big no-no, that would be AS and another contextual ad on the same page, which isn't allowed.

So, in theory you should be able to use YPN as alternate ads for AS, but you have to be sure that there's only one ad unit on that page, or you take the chance that one AS ad will show, but the other one will show the alternate. That happens frequently, especially on brand-new pages.

Never show any ads with Adsense on the same page no matter what. So if you use 2 or more adsense blocks on the same page i wouldn't use YPN as alternative since the other block(s) will show the adsense regularly and your alternative will show YPN which is not allowed.

This is definitley incorrect. Lots of people show other ads on the same page with Adsense ads. These other ads, however, may not be contextual (like YPN, for example), and may not look like Google Adsense ads.

An example of an allowable ad on the same page with Adsense are Associate product ads, like from Amazon.
