I check my stats and the browser doesn't change...not even the earnings:-)

Happens to me too, starting a few weeks ago. I browse fullscreen (Netscape) and Google now changes it to windowed when I report my stats.

Not only annoying, but pointless. Why bother doing this?

I think it may be related to their Urchin tracking javascript. I looked at it and couldn't find a good reason for it, but that's my baseless conjecture anyhow. Worth exactly what you pay for it. :D

maybe it's because i use firefox. any internet explorer users experience this?

I use IE and don't know what you are talking about. I guess ignorance is bliss ;-)
