UKSprite - what do you think?

How many visitors do they get? Have you used them?

Hi there

I have always been interested in this forum and have finally joined and decided to post.

UKSprite is a PPC engine. It also has the option of "Permalinks" where you only have to make one payment ever.

I have seen the Alexa visitor figures but of course they are only those with that toolbar. Can I work out how many people use this search engine? I read they say "some websites have had over 100,000 hits using popups" and "you may get 10 or 10,000 visitors a day" using permalinks. It seems unlikely they can deliver these figures unless they are a big search engine. What do you think? What traffic do you get from them? Are their claims likely to be justified?

I'd be grateful for any advice/info.

Thanks

This is the first time I've heard of them (don't usually target the UK though). As with most small PPC engines I would expect low volume traffic and recommend keeping a very close eye on conversion rates.

"100,000 hits using popups"

Hits and visitors are two very different things..

We have been using them for three years. Seems to be run by one person. Customer support queries are not responded to. We are happy to take traffic for one pence, but would not risk paying for permanent links (which are expensive). The search engine has gone down several times - completely dead. Then it comes back online after a few days. Not very professional.

Whose to know if we pay for a permanent listing and then the search engine closes down a few months down the line?
