I will never put money into that program again. Live and learn.
Sorry to hear of your misfortune.
Were you not able to track the origens of any of the clicks?
If so, not much good that it would do for you likely, but if you want at least the educational benefit of it, you could pm a list of 'search engines' where the hits came from, which is what I'm thinking primarily made up the clicks, and I could give you an idea of how many ptr ads you just paid 50 bucks for.
On another note, as per an alternative to google/overture, the only Real ppc companies I'm aware of, you could try goclick.
-you won't get enough traffic to bother with.
-you'll likely be able to convert some of the little you do Get.
-Stay Low, 5 cents Max, or you'll be bidding at kanoodle Again, as they all 'cross-feed' their advertisers bids to one another, once you break a certain bid level threshold, or so it appears, so Stay Low.
I'm getting about 11.5% cr, (running about a 45% roi), on goclick for one little campaign right now, a 'lead' type of thing. That's quite good I think most here will agree.
Keys:
1- It's suited for the ptr peeps to Start with, they are a good 'target market' for the type of op I'm promoting.
2- I Stay Low, to avoid the cross-feeding of my bids to enhance, kanoodle, search123, epilot, etc..
3- Monitor it Daily, and with the Lack of traffic, Most Serious advertising/marketing folks don't consider it worth bothering with.
4- Avoid 'common' or 'simple' keywords, if you wind up on the 3rd tier ptr search engines portal page Directories, you'll lose your shirt. Not as bad as kanoodle and the others, but if you bid high on simple keywords, the cross-feeding will kill you quickly.
ALL, to Date, for the Past Nearly a Year now, Indications that *I* Have, are that goclick IS the 'cleanest' 2nd tier ppc on the net.
I even actually Converted a 'hard-sale' not too long ago, using solely goclick to test it.
It wasn't worth it, as I Spent, for the 67 hits on that one, ave 3 cents a click, so I was Out $2.01, and only IN, lol, $1.05 for the low commission on the sale, but it Was, for a 2nd tier, a 'useable' cr of 1.5%, if I'd have promoted a little higher commission % product.
But Don't, lol, expect 'clean traffic', in any Volume, from the 2nd tier, there simply are NO indications on the net I can Find, that any volume Exists, other than the sad experience you just had.
There Are, a Handful, that 'claim' they can Convert kanoodle traffic, I don't know what they are selling, although I've a strong suspicion it May be a new miricle growth hormone tablet effective on bots.
If you Do search your logs on that traffic, do a seperate search on 'ppcappraisal'. That one uses a gem called 'test33.exe', which is a 'multi-window search-autoclickbot', so you Definately Don't want to be paying for those clicks, your 'viewers' are in bed asleep, at the time of the click, lol.
*I'm Not, accusing kanoodle nor Any Other ppc company of 'knowingly', accetping such traffic, but that's little comfort to the victums of same, and it could explain the Rapidness in which your deposit was depleted.
Good luck, and Play Safe out there folks.
BTW, Just to say *I*, lol, Actually posted Something beside ptr stuff, if you load up that sites .com, it loads With It, cpabet com, which does Multiple Searches with your ip address in the background. cpabet has been doing this for like Months on end now, all second tier hits.
0-iframes I think, or something similar.
They are Very Popular, and recieve in the hundreds of thousands of hits per day, Each, doing from 10 to 20 'valids' in the background of the embedded code in their pages.
I'd contact the 2nd tiers and Tell Them, but what's the Use? I'm Sure, they're 'looking into it', rofl.
