What's your bet, AdWords will double, triple, quadruple, or more?

Not competitive = same
Competitive = double
Highly Competitive = triple

Of course, terms targeting newbie/uninformed internet folks will jump higher.

I agree - the terms will have a great influence.

I am amazed what people will pay for some of these terms.

Optimalisation for Google SERPS will become even more important with rising adprices.

The problem is also that if you advertise for an English search phrase for a small non-english speaking country - you still end up paying the high international PPC tariffs (or am I wrong there?).

What is the highest Google adword at the moment?
I believe with Overture it was "data recovery"? at USD 9.00 per click..

I have seen prices as high as $14 per click.

I am amazed what people will NOT pay for some of these terms.

You can watch entire industries migrate to adwords/select.
Top 5 = Top 5

On the other hand you can watch an industry where the Top 5 did not migrate.

Why do you think that is?

No matter how much they go up, I think it's probable that it is going to take longer to get an ad approved (already does).

I haven't talked about AdWords Select much, but you can see the momentum building. If you're going to do AdWords, I would definitely submit them now so you can beat the rush--just in case the approval time takes a little longer later on.

So you expect the review process to slow down? Or are enough people going to be hired to cover the increased work load?

Now that Google Adwords are available on AOL, I checked the prices for my keywords.

I'm seeing as much as a 1000% increase in the price of adwords!

Anyone else seeing this?

It must depend on the industry.

I can get KWs at half the price at Overture in one industry while just this morning, for another industry, we added an AD for top price of $0.99 that would have costs us over $15.00 at Overture.
We will pay what we can afford and that is it.
