Cart icon in AdWords ads

Can someone tell me what the cart icon represents in AdWords ads. To see an example, go to Google and type in "fossil watch". You will see an eBay AdWords ad in which the visible url is preceded by a green shopping cart icon.

I have seen this on many queries, however, the icon is only associated with eBay ads.

Thanks

My guess is that it's Google Checkout, a new integrated shopping cart. It's meant to be a competitor for PayPal and (most likely to a greater extent) a way for google to vertically integrate the entire search process (from search to purchase).

More info about it is here:

BriGuy:

I am aware of Google Checkout, however, I did nto see any mention of that on the eBay page that was using this icon.

Also, is eBay, the owner of PayPal, really going to use Google Checkout?

thats correct, the cart is to inform searchers that the company with the ad ad displayed by adwords uses google checkout. i have seen the icon associated with more ads than just ones for ebay. as for ebay showsing it, i cant imagine that makes them happy to know they have sellers using google checkout.

interesting to find that today there is an article saying that eBay changed their acceptable payment methods and that Google Checkout is banned.
