I truly can't tell!

I uploaded an image ad to be part of my adwords account and I see it listed at the bottom ... but no data telling whether the ad is showing. I really have no idea! Moreover, I have no idea how it might be converting versus the words etc. Am I missing something?

cabbagehead,

Because image ads are only available to run on the content network, they require approval before they are activated. This should usually happen fairly quickly, so give stats a day or two to start showing for the image ad, while ensuring that your ads are showing on content sites for that Ad Group already.

If your image ad doesn't have any stats as of today, go ahead and send a note in to the support team and ask them to check it out for you.

My experience, on every recent occasion, is that approval takes WEEKS. I believe once one of the adwords advisors here saw my post and intervened, and the ads then got approved within a day.

Frankly, I don't bother any more. I can't wait weeks, and crafting graphical ads is time consuming. If I'm going to put in the time to create them, I want them online quickly. And, of course, since adwords gives no indication of what's approved or not, you don't even know what's going on.

Doesn't work for me. Keeping those advertising dollars in my pocket, or looking for other non-google options.
