After three years of trying on Google Adwords..
I have to conclude that "trying" is not enough

There is much more to this than my brain can figure out?
Should I keep trying?
Perhaps Google Adwords is just a "Dream"

Thanks,

Tori

It's definitely getting harder but still very achievable. Lot's of research, test, test, test and set realistic budgets. I think it's important to have lot's of kwords (get as lateral as possible to find words, phrases & misspellings that not to many others have thought of so you can get a low click price). Separate similar kwords into adgroups with well targetted adcopy (try to use kwords in title & body of ad). Test two or three ads in equal rotation (set this in campaign options) at all times. Replace poorly performing adcopy & test variations of better performing adcopy. Continue finding more kwords whilst deleting (or moving to better targetted adgroups) kwords with poor ctr.

Make sure customers land on the most appropriate landing page for their search. You should probably consider this when designing adgroups, though it is possible to have different links for all of your kwords. If I'm looking for apples, preferably I want to see apples within one click. More clicks = less $.

If possible track kwords, some kwords with great ctr also have horrible roi.

Hope this is useful, possibly you're aware of these tips already. Others here may have more ideas, some quite possibly contradictory to my own which is OK. This is just what works for me and I'm no master, but I do make a good living from adwords and enjoy the lifestyle it allows me ie. more time with family & working on less financially rewarding (though still rewarding) music career.

Hang in there. Good luck with your endeavours.

you could also try separating your campaigns for the search and content network so that you can keep track of your monies and also accordingly play with your budgets and bids(this can also be done if you have just one campaign running).
You may have to spend a lot of money initially but you will have to gradually reduce your costs.

Do you have a product or service that sells well on the internet? Or are you just trying to play upon the adsense / adwords arbitrage possibility?

Your question is a bit too general to attempt to give a targeted answer. What product or service do you sell? What kind of ad-copy do you use? How expensive is your product? What is your average CPC? Etecetera...
