I know it's a grey area and also very competitive but what does everyone reckon is a good CTR for the financial sector?
Just ran a campaign for our client and the CTR is only 0.6% but conversions are 3.9%. Does this sound reasonable for an Adwords campaign? Client seems happy with our management and has certainly received a lot more enquiries which meet his criteria for cost per lead but I'm still thinking if we could double the CTR...any suggestions?

We're running a CTR of about 6% in finance. It used to be much lower, but after really targeting our market of keywords we managed to get it up.

To be honest, we don't really get that many more clicks from it. However, the quality of the clicks we do get seems to be far better.

Anyway, good luck to you. I know how tough that market is.

I do investing advice - but bid on a lot of financial keywords.

Search CTR 4.30%
Search Conversion 18.5%

Content CTR .30%
Content Conversion 20.5%

This varies dependent upon my product like and of course the more the generic the keyword.

I have split my campagins out search and content to better manage spend and conversion data - its been quite eye opening.

I have a comparison from google category leaders for different vs. where I am for different areas in finance. Happy share.

double the CTR...any suggestions?

Try testing some different ads. Tip its not just position that affects CTR. In some situations simply putting two words on the end of a line like "Instant Quote" will increase CTR markedly.

Our conversion rate varies between 25% and 30%.

Good luck
